On 19 December 2026, the Dachstein will open its doors ahead of the official start of the winter season for an unforgettable Advent evening.

As the day draws to a close and dusk settles over the Dachstein, an evening filled with tranquillity, reflection and pre-Christmas magic begins. At 2,700 metres above sea level, far away from the hustle and bustle of large Christmas markets, you can enjoy an exclusive and atmospheric Advent evening in an intimate setting.

The Dachstein Gletscherbahn takes you up to the mountain station at 4:00 pm, where a warming welcome punch awaits you on the panoramic terrace, accompanied by spectacular views of the snow-covered mountains. Afterwards, enjoy a lovingly prepared 3-course menu at the Dachstein glacier restaurant – the perfect culinary start to an evening of tranquillity and indulgence.

Highlight of the evening: “Übern Stoa a Stern” reading

Author and storyteller Peter Gruber and musician and composer Josef Schnedl will take you on a special literary and musical journey.

The poetic performance by Gruber and Schnedl will be accompanied by Hans-Peter Knaus and Burkhard Höfer, combining stories, music and a wintry atmosphere to create a moving Advent experience on the Dachstein.

Two ticket categories – the choice is yours

This year, there are two ticket categories, offering different perspectives on the literary and musical experience:

Category I

With a direct view of the performers, you will be right at the heart of the experience and can enjoy the performance both visually and acoustically up close.

Category II

The view of the performers is limited in this category, allowing you to focus entirely on the listening experience.

The Advent evening ends with the descent at 9:00 pm, when the Dachstein-Gletscherbahn takes you back down into the valley after an evening filled with memorable impressions.

Bus transfer

An optional bus transfer from Schladming (Planet Planai) is available, with additional boarding points in Ramsau Ort and Ramsau Kulm. Departure from Schladming: 3:00 pm.

No-show without notification: 100% cancellation fee.
